Daniel’s initial art training was in Leicester, where he now lives and works. At Leicester College he developed his high skills in drawing and photography, which underpin his current work. Daniel gained a degree in Illustration at the University of Lincoln in 2007, but during the course began to appreciate both past and contemporary Fine Art, in particular, painting, on which he decided to concentrate.
In Daniel’s present work, he develops concepts which can be seen as unconventional, provoked by the theatrical, solemn scenes of the German Renaissance. The eccentricity of their composition and the frequent use of conflicting moods and mystery, are qualities he finds moving, in these and other works, seeking to suggest these same attributes in his own paintings.
