Nic Grimoldby

Nic left school at sixteen and, following a Foundation course at Doncaster Art College, he graduated in Interior Design from Great Yarmouth Art College and Croydon College. Early years were spent developing a successful interior design business juxtaposed with a career as a professional Rugby League player, travelling to Australia for a season, then returning to Sheffield Eagles and others. After running his interior design and build business, which included numerous exclusive London Penthouses and commercial projects such as the interior of the Shard, Nic had the opportunity to return to his first love, painting, developing a style of primarily figurative based pictures, which are fractured and distorted to give the images further depth and intrigue. His paintings reference cubism, expressionism, pop art, street art and his own background in technical drawing to produce a unique style of his own.
