Hervé Lenouvel lives and works in Brittany, France. Born in Plymouth, England in 1960, he spent his childhood in the countryside where his love of nature inspired him to paint. In his early work Hervé embraced a figurative style before moving towards a more suggested, abstract approach. His paintings have always translated the emotions felt whilst working with colour, composition and subject matter. The balance and harmony of colours, materials and light play a vital role in his paintings. His approach is fresh and instinctive, reflecting a world that evokes an atmosphere of quiet gentleness.
Hervé Lenouvel’s paintings have been exhibited in France for over twenty five years, and also in recent years in the United States.
