Ailsa Read

Ailsa lives and works in Yorkshire. Inspired by a sailor’s knowledge and love of the sea, Ailsa’s evocative oil paintings focus on individual waves to convey the sea’s infinite variations of movement and colour. Rarely does a horizon or rock intrude on one’s view to evoke scale or nearness to land. The waves are all important and enveloping.
