Melanie Wall

Melanie grew up in Caerleon, South Wales, and studied Fine Art at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff. Currently based in Shropshire, she takes her inspiration from walks and the environment, being particularly interested in the personality that changes in the sky can bring to a landscape. In addition to painting her immediate surroundings of Shropshire, Melanie looks back on some of the landscapes of South Wales that are familiar to her, due to her family's roots and heritage. She enjoys exploring the colour palette of these landscapes, which after six recent years of living in the South Wales valleys is a palette known so well, that she feels it is embedded in her.
